Dubai: Parking in Dubai is set to become easier for thousands of residents as Parkin rolls out new free parking permits and expands digital services through its mobile app, allowing eligible drivers to manage access in one place.
The latest update brings multiple permit categories, subscriptions and payment tools directly onto the Parkin app, reducing paperwork and improving access for residents, visitors and businesses. The move aligns with Dubai’s wider push towards smart, inclusive urban mobility.

Free parking permits for Emiratis and seniors
One of the key additions is the Emirati Residence Parking Permit, which offers one year of free parking for up to five registered vehicles within a 500-metre radius of the residence.
Senior Emiratis receive even broader benefits, with three years of free parking across all public zones (A to D), removing the need for renewals or zone-based restrictions.
According to Parkin, the aim is to simplify everyday mobility for priority community groups while ensuring fair access across the city.
People of Determination and medical cases covered
People of Determination can now apply for permanent or temporary parking permits depending on their status. Permanent permits cover up to five vehicles for three years, while temporary permits are valid for up to one year for those approved by medical committees.
Additional support has also been extended to individuals undergoing medical treatment, granting free access to paid parking near hospitals and clinics for the duration of their recovery.
Tourists are not excluded either, with short-term parking permits available for stays of up to 60 days.
GCC residents eligible for free residential parking
GCC nationals residing in Dubai are now eligible for one year of free parking for up to two vehicles, provided the parking is within 500 meters of their registered residence. The update removes previous access hurdles for GCC residents who regularly faced permit-related confusion.
Digital wallet for businesses and government entities
Beyond individual users, Parkin has introduced a Business and Government Wallet, designed to centralize parking payments for organizations. The feature allows employers to authorize specific vehicles, set time limits and manage employee parking through a single digital account.
Osama Alsafi, Chief Operating Officer of Parkin, said the enhancements reflect Dubai’s ambition to lead in smart mobility solutions.
“As Dubai continues to set the benchmark as a smart and inclusive city, Parkin remains focused on enhancing the everyday mobility experience for residents and visitors,” Alsafi said.
He added that the new business wallet responds to growing demand from organizations seeking more control and efficiency in managing parking operations.
All parking services, one app
With permits, eligibility checks and payments now integrated into the Parkin app, Dubai drivers no longer need to juggle multiple systems or visits to service centers.
For many residents, parking — once a daily concern — is quietly becoming another task handled in the background.
