Jebel Jais opens fully to visitors today, removing the short-term permit and ticket rules put in place after recent weather damage. The move makes spontaneous day trips far easier for UAE residents and tourists, while commercial attractions keep separate booking rules.

Full Mountain Access Restored
From today, drivers and sightseers can access the mountain road and stop at scenic viewpoints without showing an entry permit. Authorities in Ras Al Khaimah have lifted the temporary booking requirement that followed road repairs and staged reopenings earlier in February. Visitors can now use picnic areas, viewpoints, and open hiking trails at leisure.
Earlier Entry Rules After Weather Disruptions

Before: controlled, ticketed access
After heavy rains and a rockslide in late January, access to parts of the mountain was limited. Entry was staged and, at times, allowed only to guests with confirmed bookings or a paid viewing-deck ticket. That arrangement required advance planning and discouraged last-minute visits.
Now: spontaneous visits are possible
Under the new guidance, gate permits are no longer needed to drive up or to walk open trails. That said, commercial operations — notably the multi-zipline and some restaurants — continue to take separate bookings and maintain safety checks. The Jais Sky Tour is scheduled to resume from February 18 and will operate on a fixed timetable.
Access Now Open for All Visitors

- Scenic drives & viewpoints: Open to everyone. Pull-in bays and lookouts are available for photos and short walks.
- Hiking trails: Most established routes are accessible. Check on-site notices for any local closures or maintenance.
- Dining: Mountain restaurants have resumed full service. Popular outlets, including 1484 by Puro, advise reservations at peak times. Walk-ins are no longer tied to access permissions, but table bookings remain wise.
- Adventure activities: Commercial ziplines and guided experiences reopen on set dates and require pre-booking. Plan ahead for the Jais Sky Tour and similar offerings.
Visitor Guidance Before Travelling

- Bring water and basic supplies. Mobile coverage can vary; let someone know your plans if you hike.
- Follow safety signage. Do not enter taped-off or closed zones. Respect staff instructions at commercial attractions.
