Dubai: Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, the world’s first mainstream tri-folding smartphone, and the UAE is among the few countries chosen for its ultra-limited launch. But this is no ordinary product release—it’s a strategic, invitation-only rollout that positions the device as a luxury technology icon rather than a mass-market gadget.

A New Category in Mobile Tech
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold isn’t just another addition to the foldable lineup—it introduces an entirely new category. The phone unfolds into a massive 10-inch display, giving users a tablet-sized canvas that fits in a pocket. With its customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB RAM, and triple-cell 5,600mAh battery, the TriFold is built to outperform conventional flagship phones and tablets.
Samsung’s engineers spent years designing the dual FlexHinge system, which uses titanium rails and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 to deliver smooth folding and structural rigidity. The device features:
- 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display
- 6.5-inch AMOLED cover screen
- 200MP flagship-grade main camera
- Standalone Samsung DeX – a first on any phone
- Storage options: 512GB and 1TB
UAE Launch: Invitation Only, Just 500 Units
The UAE rollout is designed to be highly selective. Only 500 units will be available during the initial launch phase starting 19 December 2025. Samsung Gulf confirmed that the device will be offered strictly through invitation to a curated list of influencers, tech pioneers, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals in the UAE.
Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Gulf, said the approach is intentional: “This is a device designed for a new era of productivity and innovation. Our invitation-only programme ensures that UAE pioneers experience it first.”
A wider UAE retail launch is expected only in the second half of 2026, after the U.S. and global markets begin receiving broader shipments.
Price Forecast: AED 9,500–10,558
Based on South Korea’s official pricing and regional conversion benchmarks, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to land in the UAE within the AED 9,500 to AED 10,558 range. The price reflects both the complexity of its design and its positioning as a luxury, first-generation “Halo Product.”
The total cost of ownership, however, will be notable. A main display replacement is projected to exceed AED 3,000—making Samsung’s exclusive repair benefits an important value add.

Premium After-Sales Support for UAE Owners
Samsung is rolling out a ‘white-glove’ support model for TriFold owners. Each buyer in the 500-unit programme will receive:
- One-time 50% discount on display repair
- Free Smart Switch setup services
- Device health checks and software optimization
- 24/7 live chat and WhatsApp support
- Service access through Samsung Experience Store, Dubai Mall, and authorized UAE centers
The Real Strategy: Scarcity, Prestige & Market Leadership
Samsung’s TriFold launch strategy isn’t about moving millions of units. Instead, the company is leveraging scarcity to shape perception. By limiting the device to a handful of early adopters, Samsung positions the TriFold as an aspirational luxury product—similar to limited-edition high-end watches or concept cars.
Tech analysts say this moves the Galaxy Z TriFold into a different league, overshadowing rival announcements and reaffirming Samsung’s leadership in foldable engineering.
TM Roh, Samsung’s co-CEO, summed it up: “The Galaxy Z TriFold reflects years of work on foldable designs. It balances portability, performance, and productivity in one device.”
A Glimpse Into the Future of Mobile Computing
The Galaxy Z TriFold is more than an engineering showcase—it’s a preview of what future mobile hardware could become. With its standalone DeX capability, triple-display productivity design, and AI-enhanced software, the TriFold blurs the line between phone, tablet, and computer. And for UAE early adopters, owning one means holding a piece of mobile history long before global markets get their hands on it.
The excitement, exclusivity, and ambition behind this launch make one thing clear: the Galaxy Z TriFold isn’t built for everyone. It’s built for those who want to be the first to hold the future.
