The Official Free Parking Dates
In alignment with the UAE’s public holiday calendar, parking fees in Sharjah will be waived for two days.
- Free Parking Starts: Monday, December 1, 2025
- Free Parking Ends: Tuesday, December 2, 2025
- Paid Parking Resumes: Wednesday, December 3, 2025
Since Sharjah follows a 3-day weekend system (Friday-Sunday off), and typical public parking is often free on Fridays in many zones, this announcement effectively extends the ease of mobility for the entire holiday block.
The “Blue Zone” Trap: Where You Still Must Pay
While most parking spaces are free, Sharjah Municipality has highlighted critical exceptions. Do not assume all parking is free!
You must pay for parking in the following areas, even on holidays:
- 7-Day Paid Zones (Blue Signs): These are high-demand areas (often in commercial districts) marked with Blue Information Signs. These zones operate 7 days a week, including official holidays.
- Smart Parking Yards: The automated parking lots (usually gravel or gated) are not included in the waiver.

In more good news for Sharjah drivers, Sharjah Police have announced a major traffic fine settlement initiative to celebrate Eid Al Etihad.
- The Offer: 50% discount on traffic fines.
- Black Points: Full waiver of black points for violations committed before December 1, 2025.
- Deadline: To avail of this discount and points waiver, motorists must settle their fines by early January 2026.
How Does This Compare to Dubai & Abu Dhabi?

- Dubai (RTA): Free parking applies on Dec 1 and Dec 2, resuming on Dec 3. This excludes multi-storey terminals.
