Advisory details
The ministry’s guidance asks firms to limit employee presence in open areas and to enable off-site work “where possible.” The advisory is a recommendation rather than a nationwide legal mandate; decisions to suspend or modify on-site operations remain with the competent local authorities in each emirate.
MOHRE said the remote-work advice excludes vital and essential roles that require physical attendance, allowing those employees to continue on site as necessary. Employers were told to keep up with updates from federal and local official channels.
Security context
Government briefings cited a recent barrage of missiles and drones intercepted over UAE airspace; authorities reported multiple intercepts and isolated injuries from falling debris. The ministry’s recommendation was issued as a precautionary safety measure in that context.
MOHRE urged employers to rely on official channels for further guidance and to coordinate with local competent authorities on whether to suspend operations in specific jurisdictions. The advisory is aimed at preserving employee safety while allowing essential services and critical operations to continue.
