Ahd wa Waad Campaign Opens Digital Pledge for UAE Residents

DUBAI: The national loyalty campaign Ahd wa Waad has extended participation through a digital platform at pledge.ae, enabling citizens and residents to pledge allegiance to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and affirm commitment to the country’s security and unity.

The initiative, launched under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has drawn thousands of signatories since its introduction in May 2026.

Four Pillars Guide the Ahd wa Waad National Loyalty Initiative

The initiative rests on four core pillars: promoting peaceful coexistence and social harmony in the country’s diverse population; drawing inspiration from the leadership values of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; strengthening civic responsibility and the bond with national identity; and expressing gratitude for the UAE’s safety, quality of life and economic opportunities.

These pillars underpin the pledge text, which commits participants to loyalty, living in peace and harmony, passing national values to future generations and contributing to the country’s progress under the President’s guidance.

Inclusive Approach Embraces Citizens and Residents Alike

Unlike pledges limited to citizens by birth, Ahd wa Waad actively includes expatriate residents as stakeholders in the national journey. The language emphasises shared dedication and belonging, reflecting the UAE’s expat-majority society.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan launched the campaign at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi attended by more than 4,800 participants from varied backgrounds, including community leaders, students and investors. He was among the first to sign the document alongside prominent public figures.

Personalised Certificates Drive Viral Participation Across Social Media

The instant issuance of a high-resolution certificate bearing the participant’s name has encouraged widespread sharing on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Users have posted their certificates alongside messages of gratitude for the safety and opportunities provided by life in the UAE.

The process remains entirely voluntary and is designed for accessibility across age groups and technical abilities, with support for multiple languages.
