Meals were handed out at six iftar locations managed by the association. The charity said the sites receive large daily numbers of beneficiaries and that this Zayed Day distribution formed part of its Ramadan programme. Organisers emphasised adherence to food-safety and service standards at the distribution points.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank support

The initiative was supported by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility activities. Sharjah Charity International said the bank’s backing helped extend the reach of the drive and provided logistical and funding assistance for the 10,000-meal distribution.
SCI executive director on initiative
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of the association, said the initiative coincided with Zayed Humanitarian Day and reflected the legacy of giving established by the late UAE leader. He added the programme “brought joy to thousands of fasting individuals” and underlined the role of community partnerships in amplifying humanitarian work.
Initiative marks Zayed Humanitarian Day
The distribution marked Zayed Humanitarian Day, an occasion observed in the UAE during Ramadan to honour the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The charity said the timing aimed to reinforce the spirit of charity and solidarity during the holy month.
